In the chest of the SMP a “green” heart beats, because, for years, has been using regenerated material produced by another company of the group, Rigenera. Founded in 1999, it specializes in the production of polyethylene granules regenerated from suitably treated industrial waste.

The current production capacity exceeds 1,000 tons / month.

In 2015, Rigenera opens the door to the world of 3D printing with 6 new projects: from the production of biodegradable filament for 3D printers, to a rapid prototyping service, the reproduction of customizable design objects in biodegradable material from reuse.

In 2017 the company opens an over 200 m factory store in the center of Bari, with a park of over 30 printers and a hall with 15 stations, where it organizes courses for 3D modeling software.

In 2018, Rigenera started the production of a film biocompound, currently used by SMP, closing with it the circular economy chain.

In 2020 Rigenera is ranked in 2nd among SMEs, in the national competition organized by Confindustria on sustainability and the circular economy.
